Completely endorse a self date too - there is a lot of tranquility yet excitement in being able to be in isolation while out in the sun and around people and the chaos of community.
wow I literally love this comment. I never thought about the idea of solo date existing within the dichotomy of solitude and bustle from being outside. perhaps when we just allow ourselves to reduce ourselves to just being human wallflowers since we're alone, we're able to take in a lot more from the world around us.
So easy to get caught up with life and forgot the little things you could do to change your day and life for the better. Thank you for the reminder!! Inspired me to take myself out on a date this week.
I love this reminder so much! I have never intentionally taken myself out on a date (maybe unintentionally by going to a library or coffee house by myself to study or read) and I think it sounds like such a beautiful practice. I love that you found it empowering and I love your line about how you stop caring about what other people around might think of the fact that you are eating alone because of how your inner confidence grows with this practice. I'm inspired & want to try to incorporate weekly dates for myself this summer too ❤️
I love the idea of taking yourself out on a date and dressing up for it. I've done this a few times, enjoying some self-care time. Each time, as I got ready and dressed up, I had this thought: "Why are you dressing up just for yourself?" But then I realized, it is exactly for myself. As you beautifully wrote, it’s about choosing yourself and celebrating who you are. I love these lines you wrote.
There is something that makes me feel so incredibly powerful when I’m doing all of this alone. It’s because I am affirming to myself that I had a choice to be here, and I chose myself.
